Citi Card
Hidden Perks Guide
Citi’s cardholder perks changed a lot after 2019 — some popular benefits were cut, others are easy to miss. Here’s exactly what’s live today, and what’s not.
Citi Strata Premier®
Citi’s flagship travel card (renamed from “Citi Premier” in 2024). $95 covers a 3X-on-everyday-travel earn rate plus a $100 annual hotel credit — enough to offset the fee on its own if you book one qualifying stay a year.
75,000 ThankYou® Points after $4,000 spend in the first 3 months — worth roughly $750–$1,400 depending on how you redeem (cash back vs. transfer to airline/hotel partners).
$100 Annual Hotel Benefit
$100 off a single hotel stay of $500+ (pre-tax) booked through ThankYou.com — use it every cardmember year.
10X / 3X Earning
10X points on hotels, car rentals & attractions via CitiTravel.com. 3X on airfare, other hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations/EV charging. 1X on everything else.
Citi Entertainment
Presale and preferred access to concerts, sports, and dining experiences — still active, unlike several Citi perks cut in 2019.
Trip & Purchase Protections
Trip cancellation/interruption up to $5,000/trip, trip delay reimbursement up to $500 (6+ hr delay), lost/damaged luggage up to $3,000, rental car damage coverage, purchase protection up to $10,000/incident, and a 24-month extended warranty extension.
$5/mo Lyft Credit
Automatic $5 in-app credit each month you take 3+ Lyft rides, plus Lyft Pink Essential membership perks.
Instacart+ Benefits
Complimentary Instacart+ membership credit and reduced service fees when you activate through Citi’s benefits portal.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
Full currency conversion with no added fee on purchases made outside the US.
No Longer Offered: Price Rewind
You may still see “price protection” mentioned in older articles — Citi discontinued Price Rewind in September 2019. Don’t count on it; it’s not coming back on this card.

Citi Double Cash®
No annual fee, no category tracking, no rotating bonuses. You earn 1% when you buy and another 1% when you pay it off — 2% flat, as long as you make at least the minimum payment on time.
$200 cash back after $1,500 spend in the first 6 months, paid out as 20,000 ThankYou Points redeemable for cash.
2% on Every Purchase
1% back when you buy, 1% more when you pay the bill — no caps, no categories to track, no activation required.
0% Intro APR on Balance Transfers
18 months at 0% on balance transfers made within the offer window. Note: this does not apply to new purchases.
ThankYou Points, Not Fixed Cash Back
Rewards post as ThankYou Points, which can be redeemed for cash at 1¢/point, or combined with a Strata Premier account to unlock airline/hotel transfer partners.
3% Foreign Transaction Fee
Unlike the Strata Premier, this card isn’t built for travel abroad — every non-US purchase adds 3%. Leave it home on international trips.
